Ordered a few dishes to go: Mapo tofu, radish cakes, and pork flower chives. All of it was so good! First time ordering the mapo and pork chives and would definitely order again.

I met with a friend's family here one weekend and they had ordered so much by the time I got there and the paper plates just kept appearing and my friend's mom kept putting things on my plate so I don't know really what I was eating. The sheng jian bao was a standout (maybe only available on weekends?) but everything was so good so I came back with my kids. We had great xiao long bao (soup dumplings) and beef noodle soup, as well as a solid xiang gan rou si (stir fried dried pressed tofu with pork and celery).

An amazing restaurant with delicious food! We enjoyed lots, but came for their Shumai Stuffed Glutinous Rice and Soup Dumplings... absolutely delicious!! Everything was very fresh, came out quickly, and was perfectly seasoned. Our server Emily was quick, very attentive, and made sure we were happy! Other stars of our meal included the crab rangoons, wonton w/ red hot sauce (amazing), egg drop soup, pan fried dumplings, egg rolls, and veggie spring rolls. So excited for my next meal at Shanghai Taste!!

We found this spot due to a Tik tok video and I can honestly say that it was worth it! The video referenced this place having some of the best soup dumplings in the DMV. This was my first time having soup dumplings but they are so good! The filling was amazing, the broth was tasty, the dough was perfect. I was a little hesitant about ordering food from the menu based on reviews but was happy pleasantly surprised! We got the pork Lo Mein and broccoli and garlic sauce and they were both extremely tasty. We got there as soon as they opened and I'm so glad we did! Although we were the first ones there, the place ended up being packed within 30 minutes of opening. It's a small space but they were able to accommodate everyone. The servers were very polite and informative of the menu. 10/10 would recommend

Found this place thanks to NOVA foodies FB group! The roast pork was packed!!! A nice flavor no carrots or peas but the plate was affordable and can last two days. Enjoyed their eggroll and the pan fried dumplings were packed. My mom ordered a combination rice noddle and it had a nice charred and crisp flavor to them. Again the portion was worth the price. Friendly service and it was a busy hole-in-wall. The people next to us ordered beef tendon in spicy sauce and I will def ordered that next time because it looked really good.

The six of us (4 adults and 2 children) had a nice lunch. Although the picture shows the total as $121, the restaurant offered a decent cash discount and the total was brought to $110. Here are my thoughts on the dishes. The good: soup dumpling, sliced roast beef + tendon, braised soy sauce duck, 生煎包 fried buns, soy bean milk + fried bread stick, and Shumai. These dishes were really good. I don't think you can go wrong with any of them! The meh: Hainan Chicken with rice, noodle scallion, and Pork + bean curd. If you don't like heavy soy sauce then these dishes might be not be for you. Furthermore, the amount of oil in these three dishes were a tad bit overwhelming. The restaurant itself is a bit small so it wasn't exactly the most comfortable. However, the service was good and most of the dishes were great.

A very small Chinese restaurant my family and I have been going to for several years. It's In a small, run-down shopping strip with only a few stores next door. A bit of a turn off is that there's a veterinarian office next door. The restaurant is closed on Mondays and the restroom is for customers only. I've never seen mice or roaches but the restaurant doesn't appear very hygienic. The decor is outdated and would only recommend dining in for small parties (5 people or less). The food overall though is really delicious and affordable. They're known for their soup dumplings (Xiao long bao) and other northern Chinese dishes. It's a decent variety of food and I really enjoy it. Service is excellent as well. Their kitchen is pretty fast and the waiters/waitresses try to take your order as soon as you're ready. They clean off tables as soon as you leave for other customers to be seated. My family and I were fortunate enough to have gone during a slow time so we were the only diners. I would say this is a great option for carry-out.

Chinese food is comfort food! Shanghai Taste has been our favorite family Chinese restaurant for a long time. The quality of the meats and seafoods reigns supreme. Their sauces are a delight to the senses. So, yesterday we ordered a treasure trove of dishes. We started off with wonton soup, which was hearty and delicious. Then, my personal favorite, triple delight, which includes shrimp, chicken, and beef. This dish is cooked in a phenomenal brown sauce. Each of the proteins was cooked perfectly. It also has lots of vegetables to add to your enjoyment. We ordered Mongolian beef. It was tender and tasty. There was also pork lo mein. My granddaughter loved this dish. She could not stop eating it. It was excellent! Tender pork, well cooked veggies, and soft and tasty lo mein. Then, we had shrimp fried rice. The rice was scrumptious and had large chunks of shrimp. We also ordered soup dumplings. These were good, but I missed out on the soup that they are usually filled with. We ordered on the phone and everything was ready when my son went in to pick it up. The dishes were well packed and everything made it home safe and sound. The restaurant is a smaller space, so come early or we usually order take out. The people who work at Shanghai Taste are super nice and efficient. There is a reason they are my favorite Chinese restaurant and I recommend them highly.
